SLJ Day 3 Activity 3 - Achieving Our Dreams

For this activity, choose a friend or family member and ask them what their dream job would be. Please then brainstorm six ways in which you could support them in achieving their dream job.
On your blog, present your ideas as a poster or infographic.

For this activity I chose to ask my friend Kyle what his dream job is.

1: Be supportive
2: Give him advice on things he could improve on
3: Help him in anyway possible
4: Keep him positive and motivated when things get difficult by giving motivational talks
5: Help him study and quiz him
6: Be a nice friend :)

  1. Hi again!

Nice work Mary! I love the ideas you have! These all sounds like awesome ways of helping Kyle achieve his dream job.

Being supportive is a very good way of helping him achieve his job. How are some ways that you can show him that you support him? What does being supportive look like?

Giving advice on things to improve on is also a really good idea. By doing this you would be helping him become the best builder he can be!

Do you have a dream job? What are some ways that your friends can help you achieve it?

Keep up the awesome work Mary!

  2. Hi Matilda

Being supportive is when you encourage and support someone else. For example if they have an idea to do something you should support their decision 100%, you can add some suggestions to help them, but you should be on board with them and their idea. And that's how I'd show him I support him, by being on board with them the whole way.

Giving advice isn't usually the best way to help him achieve his dream job, but it can help in some areas when needed. Like for example if he's struggling to choose between two things I could give him some advice to give him some clarity for his decision.

I don't really have a dream job, but one job I would love to do is work for a charity that helps less fortunate children around the world, something like Save the Children or UNICEF. Some ways my friends can help me achieve it is basically what I writ down for Kyle since it can really go both ways.

Do you have a dream job? If so what is it?

    1. Hey thank you for this awesome reply!

You have explained what being supportive means very well!

Working for UNICEF would be so incredible! Have you looked into it very much?

My dream job is being a teacher!
